Opening ceremony of Iranian Film Festival has been held in Tbilisi State University, Georgia, late on Tuesday.
‘Azar, Shahdokht, Parviz and Others’ by Behrouz Afkhami was screened with English subtitle and was welcomed by the viewers on the first day of the festival.
The ‘Appendix’ directed by Hossein Namazi was also screened with Georgian subtitle in the opening ceremony.
‘Crazy Castle’ directed by Abolhassan Davoudi and ‘5-Star’ directed by Mahshid Afsharzadeh are also among the Iranian films to be screened at the university.
Iran’s Ambassador to Georgia Seyyed-Javad Qavam-Shahidi, Cultural Attaché Hamid Mostafavi, President of Tbilisi State University George Sharvashidze and a number of the university students attended the ceremony.
Iran’s cultural attaché stated cooperating with Tbilisi State University for holding this festival is a great job and shows that active communications between the organizers of the festival and audience will help them to access a common language.
Sharvashidze also welcomed the cooperation between Iran’s Embassy and Tbilisi University. He said their relationship is not limited to scientific activities and they can hold exhibitions and film festivals.
The festival will wrap up on December 25.
